Career:
Sunahjit undertook her LLB Law degree at the University of Leicester and graduated in 2019. Sunahjit later completed her Legal Practice Course and Masters in Law at De Montfort University, receiving a Distinction overall in 2022. Sunahjit qualified as a Solicitor in November 2023 after her 1 and 1/2 year Training Contract and over the course of her Training Contract, she undertook advocacy in 45 Hearings herself. Since qualifying, Sunahjit continues to assist clients with respect to Divorce/Matrimonial Finances, Private Law Children Matters as well as Domestic Abuse Matters. Sunahjit has also continued to undertake all of her own advocacy within her own matters. Sunahjit joined Lawson West in August 2024, having previously worked within the family teams at other prominent Law firms.

Sunahjit is a dedicated and hardworking Family Solicitor with over 4 years of experience in all areas of family law, with a particular passion for cases involving the arrangements for and the wellbeing of children. Sunahjit always puts her clients’ needs first, listening and supporting clients throughout what is invariably a difficult and stressful time for them.
Some recent Hearings that Sunahjit has completed include, First Hearings, Dispute Resolution Appointments, Contested Final Hearings (including cross-examination), as well as a High Court Hearing. Thus, Sunahjit has a wealth of experience in successfully representing parents, grandparents, aunts and other family members throughout all family law matters.

Interests/Hobbies:
Sunahjit currently holds a brown belt in Karate (Leicester and Loughborough Shotokan) and is working towards achieving her black belt. Sunahjit also enjoys scenery painting, such as painting city skylines, beaches, sunsets and much more as well as travelling and new experiences.
As a proud Sikh of Punjabi descent, in her spare time, Sunahjit also assists other minorities to enter the legal progression through help with CV’s and applications etc.
