Dispute Resolution

Judith Owen is an affiliate member of CIArb – Chartered Institute of Arbitration and as well as being qualified in dispute resolution and litigation, Judith can specifically advise on property and construction disputes. Judith is also an affiliate member of STEP having completed their training in Advanced Trust Disputes in 2013, she’s excellent in contentious probate matters. Colleague paralegal Imaan Abdul Karim has a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Employment

Director and Head of Employment, Vaishali Thakerar is a Batchelor of Laws (LLB) Hons from DeMontfort University.

Commercial

Nathan Mee, commercial team paralegal is studying for his Masters in Legal Practice course (LLM) qualification this year. Colleague and paralegal Amy Lock, has a Degree in Archaeology and aims to study with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

Conveyancing

Department Head and Senior Associate Rachael Mitchell is a Licensed Conveyancer registered with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC). Solicitor colleague Catherine Wilson has a Masters in Legal Practice (LLM), and Wendy Andrews has a Level 4 Diploma, she is a qualified Conveyancing Technician and aims to qualify as a Licensed Conveyancer, to be registered with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC).

The firm is an accredited member of the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) and has been since 2013, this is a quality standard for conveyancing advice and services which is applied for, assessed and awarded annually.

Probate & Wills

As well as qualified and associate solicitors in the team, Vicky Jones and Sophie Forsyth are both full members of STEP – The Society of Trust and Estate Planning (TEP membership status). Sophie and Vicky both achieved Distinction in their exams. Managing Director Vicky Jones has a Post Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice, passing with Distinction, and Sophie has a Masters in Legal Practice (LLM), also with Distinction.

Associate Solicitor and head of department, Phoebe Skarlatos, who studied ‘Healthcare, Ethics and Law’ to Masters level is now also studying for her STEP exams. Like all members of the team, Phoebe is highly experienced and advises on Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection Matters and Estate Administration. Colleague Laura Brown has a Masters in History. Members of the team are also Dementia-friendly trained with skills to understand and discuss incapacity

Family team

Head of Department and Solicitor, Fiona Wilson is an accredited member of Resolution and family law colleague and Associate Solicitor Alistair Dobson is also a member of Resolution and assists at regional committee level. Resolution is an association of Family Law professionals which aims to assist separating or divorcing couples to reduce anxiety and expense. Members are committed to work to reduce contention and hostility to help families move to a different life structure with minimum pain and trauma. 

Other professionals

Justine Hatcher, Head of BD and Marketing, has an FDA Degree in Digital Marketing & Design and a Masters in Marketing.

Head of HR, Hannah Warren, studied CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in Human Resource Management and is an Associate Member of the CIPD.

Olu Modupe, Head of IT Services and Communications at Lawson-West Solicitors, has an MSc in Electronic Engineering and also PGCert in Business Administration.  His IT co-worker, Nouran Baldo, has a Masters in Cyber Security.
