David Heys said of the facilities:
"The Business Bounce-Back Loan Scheme (BBLS) has been very popular in the East Midlands as it can provide fast financial support to businesses across the UK that are losing revenue and seeing their cashflow disrupted as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, that can benefit from £50,000 or less in finance. The BBLS loans are available through a range of British Business Bank accredited lenders and partners, listed on the British Business Bank website. The East Midlands has 6% of the UK total business population adoption of BBLS facilities, compared to 19% (London) and 16% (South East).
The CBILS scheme has also been popular in the East Midlands, as a way for smaller businesses to take advantage of financial support at this time. CBILS in the East Midlands represents 6% adoption of the business population. This is just below average (8.3%) for most UK regions, some with a low 2% rate of adoption (Northern Ireland) and others as much as 10% adoption (East of England, South West, North West) and 19% (London)."
