If you own your property together as joint tenants it will automatically pass to your spouse if you pass away. But if you own your home in your sole name or as tenants in common it will not pass to them unless you write a Will to state these are your wishes. Also, money in the bank and investments will not automatically pass to your partner without a Will in place.
