Marta shares her thoughts on joining Lawson-West:

"Starting a new job is always exciting but also quite a daunting experience, even for those who have been in employment for many years! I qualified as a Solicitor in September 2020 and work within the Probate, Wills and Trusts department at our Leicester office. Since 2016, I have been advising clients on Wills of varying complexities (including Trust Wills), Inheritance Tax, Lasting Powers of Attorney and more recently over the last three years, advising on the winding-up of Trusts and dealing with all types of Probate and Estate Administration. I advise on all areas of tax which may need to be considered during the administration period, including inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax.

Learning new systems is never easy and it is therefore fundamental to be able to call on people to help when needed and also feel as though you can ask questions without feeling silly for asking them.

Since joining Lawson-West I have found the staff to be not only incredibly helpful, but so friendly and approachable. There seems to be an open door policy – there is nothing worse than starting a new job and feeling as though you cannot ask for help when needed or simply have someone to talk to, if needed in that moment!

I knew from the moment that I walked through the door that I was going to enjoy it here and I am yet to be proven wrong. It goes beyond the usual pleasantries of “Morning, how are you?” and “Did you have a nice weekend”, and the more time goes on you begin to see that people are actually interested in you as a person and want to go out of their way to make you feel as welcome as possible. It is actively encouraged to have conversations with your colleagues which are not work related!

A lot of employees have been with the company for many years which is so positive and reassuring. They talk so proudly of Lawson-West, as do the existing clients, who are clearly at the heart of the service, that Lawson-West provides.

I look forward to continuing to uphold Lawson-West’s reputable status and assisting clients with their Private Client needs."
