Appointeeship
An appointee is someone who is appointed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to manage or receive benefits on behalf of another vulnerable or incapacitated person. An appointee is not the same as a Deputy or an Attorney, and is not permitted to manage other finances.
Appointeeships are appropriate for those who only have benefits and have no other income or funds to manage. They are not suitable as a sole solution for people who receive income streams other than state benefits, have savings or other pots of money or who are inheriting sums of money.
